Celebrating British Food Fortnight at Oscar Mayer
09th October 2025

For the past two weeks, we joined the nationwide celebration of British Food Fortnight 2025, a chance to shine a light on the dishes, ingredients, and traditions that make British cuisine so special. From chef chats and recipe competitions to a charity bake sale, our teams came together to celebrate food in true Oscar Mayer style.
Chef Chat: Favourite British Dishes
We kicked things off with our development chefs Paul and Connor, who sat down for a light-hearted chat about their favourite British dishes. From fish and chips to pies and roasts, they celebrated the classics that have stood the test of time.

Community Spirit: Flint Bake Sale☕🍰
No British Food Fortnight celebration would be complete without a bake sale, and our colleagues at our Flint site went all out for a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning.
From beautifully crafted bakes to a bit of friendly competition, the event highlighted not just our passion for food, but also our commitment to supporting important causes. Tables were filled with homemade cakes, pastries, and sweet treats that brought colleagues together in the spirit of giving.
👏 Congratulations to Miroslawa Michta, who was voted bake-off winner of the day!
Thanks to the generosity of our colleagues, we raised £520 for Macmillan Cancer Support, which Macmillan has informed us can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 13 hours helping people living with cancer.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, and joined in, proof that when we come together over food, we can make a real difference.
Recipe Card Competition 🥔🍎🍐
To get everyone involved in celebrating British food, we launched our recipe card competition on our Facebook and Instagram. Entries ranged from comforting soup and cake to a homemade preserve, showcasing the creativity and cooking passion across our teams.
Congratulations to Elzbieta Granat for her beautifully presented steak and chips dish, which truly captures the spirit of British Food Fortnight!

Chef Chat: British Ingredients 🌿
Paul and Connor return to talk about underrated British ingredients. From damsons and elderflower to foraged finds like wild garlic, hawthorn, and pineapple weed, they highlighted the incredible produce that grows all around us.
The full British food conversation is available on LinkedIn, while highlights were shared across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Closing Out with a British Classic: Beans on Toast 🥄
To wrap up British Food Fortnight, our chefs couldn’t resist giving one of the UK’s most iconic dishes a makeover: beans on toast.
Simple, comforting, and elevated with a chef’s touch, it was the perfect way to end two weeks of celebrating Britain’s rich food culture.
